Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how FormZiller (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects information when you use our Chrome extension and related backend services (the “Service”). By installing or using FormZiller, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. What FormZiller does
FormZiller is a tool for website owners and administrators to test and monitor their own web forms. The extension helps you:
- collect form structure from your pages,
- run automated test submissions using synthetic test data,
- receive alerts when a monitored form appears to be broken or stops delivering leads.
FormZiller is intended to be used only on websites and forms that you control or administer.
2. Information we collect
We deliberately collect and store only a minimal amount of data required to operate the Service.
2.1. Account and contact data
- Email address – used to create your account, authenticate you and send alerts or important service messages.
- Telegram identifier (username or chat ID) – only if you choose to connect Telegram alerts. This is used to deliver notifications about form status.
2.2. Form metadata and test logs
On our backend we may store:
- information about the forms you choose to monitor (page URL, basic form settings, test interval, form name),
- logs of test runs: timestamps, technical status (success/fail), HTTP status codes, latency and error messages.
We do not use test logs to build marketing profiles or to sell any data to third parties.
2.3. Data stored locally in your browser
The extension may store the following in Chrome’s local storage:
- your authentication token,
- basic configuration and UI preferences (e.g. which forms you see, test intervals, language).
This data stays in your browser and is not shared with other users.
3. What we do not collect
- We do not collect your general browsing history.
- We do not read or log the contents of every page you visit.
- We do not intentionally collect personal data from your real visitors’ form submissions.
FormZiller uses its own synthetic test data when running automated checks. If in the future we introduce features that store real leads or any additional data on our backend, this will be clearly documented in the product and limited to the stated purpose of form monitoring.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data.
4. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- provide and operate the Service (form monitoring, test runs, alerts),
- authenticate you and secure your account,
- send alerts about broken or failing forms to the email/Telegram addresses you configure,
- improve reliability and performance of FormZiller,
- comply with legal obligations, if applicable.
5. Your responsibility as site administrator
FormZiller is designed for site owners and administrators. By using the extension you confirm that:
- you have the right to monitor the forms you add to FormZiller,
- you are responsible for complying with applicable privacy and data-protection laws on your websites,
- you will not use FormZiller to monitor forms on websites you do not control or have permission to test.
If your forms collect personal data from end users, you are responsible for informing them and obtaining any required consents for testing and monitoring.
6. Data retention
- Account data (email, Telegram identifier) is kept while your account is active.
- Technical logs of test runs are kept for a limited period reasonably necessary to provide the Service and troubleshoot issues, after which they may be aggregated or deleted.
- You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us (see “Contact” below).
7. Sharing and third parties
We may share data only in the following limited situations:
- Service providers who help us operate infrastructure (e.g. hosting providers), under appropriate confidentiality obligations.
- Legal requirements if we are required to do so by law or valid legal request.
We do not share data with advertisers or data brokers.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect stored data, including:
- transport encryption (HTTPS) between the extension and our backend,
- restricted access to production systems,
- regular updates of server software.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to keep your data protected.
9. Children’s privacy
FormZiller is intended for use by website administrators and business users, not by children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we may have collected such data, please contact us and we will remove it.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available at this URL, with the “Last updated” date adjusted accordingly. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
11. Contact
